A Molnar Home Computing Lunch & Learn event to benefit Get On Board Skateboarding
The most important aspect of MHC’s Lunch and Learn events is that they’re about more than helping people to understand and use technology: at their core, these events are designed to benefit reputable charitable organizations in the local community.
Get On Board Skateboarding has been raising public awareness for children with autism since the first skateboard art show in 2012. Skateboarding instruction events debuted in May 2014 and the program has gained momentum steadily in the last year. You can read more about Get On Board Skateboarding and the children it helps in a recent article on Lancaster Online, an article on The Burg or the Get On Board Skateboarding Facebook page.
After venue costs are paid, all ticket proceeds go directly to the associated charity. For this event, $10 of every $20 ticket helps the Get On Board Skateboarding program reach out to and empower more children with autism. Order your ticket now to contribute to a local charity, eat a great meal and learn more about your computer.
Back Up Your Data: Why and How?
Nearly everyone who’s used a computer has been there: it could be the moment when the computer mentions it can’t find the operating system; it could be a hideous grinding sound screaming out from inside the machine, a cacophonous chorus born of hell as the hard drive merrily mangles music, faithfully fractures photos and dutifully destroys years of data; it could even be a subtle, more stealthy onset as your computer insists on scanning its drive every time you use it. No matter what form it takes, a failed hard drive usually means one thing: unless you’re willing to invest in a data recovery service your data is gone.
No more family photos. No more favorite songs. No more research papers or tax returns, budget spreadsheets or book reports.
Game over, man.
At Molnar Home Computing we’ve seen this happen far too often and it’s unfortunate because it’s so easily avoided. Backing up your data is as inexpensive as a twenty dollar USB stick and as simple as plugging in that stick and clicking a few places in Windows or OS X. This Lunch and Learn event is for complete novices, experienced users and those somewhere in the middle. Whether you use a PC or a Mac, a laptop or a desktop, order your ticket now to learn the best way to keep your treasured memories and important files safe from loss, enjoy a great lunch and help an amazing cause at the same time.
